Improve a scene: Urban Fantasy story

I’m currently reading an urban fantasy tale. It’s all part of developing a stronger understanding of the expected Tropes in that genre so I can write stronger stories.

Anyway, the book is super fast-paced. WOW! As in if a story is supposed to have peaks and valleys, this one is all peaks. There’s very little time to breathe. I know authors are told to pace their stories and the action in their stories but something tells me breakneck tales are beloved by a large number of readers.

And it’s here … LegionBorn

I’ve got a new book out and I can take a quick breath.

*Phew*

LegionBorn is done and has been shared with the world. It’s the story of Vaughn Prentiss, an ambitious lawyer who learns he’s the subject of a little-known prophecy: he will bring about Lucifer’s undoing. With the prince of darkness on his tail, he must stay alive or Lucifer will have his soul & herald the end of the world as we know it.

LegionBorn final ebook cover F F John

I am so excited about this book and the universe it exists in. Take a look at it, why don’t you?

#ThePursual got a blog review!

My first book, The Pursual, is now out and getting some nice reviews. I didn’t think to seek out blogger reviews but now that it received one from the Butterfly Mentions blog, I think it might be time to work on that.

Thank you, Butterfly Mentions for the kind review and assessment of the book.

Mosey on over to the blog to get a look at the review.

The Pursual can be found on Amazon here and to purchase at other retailers, please click here.

#ThePursual is here!

My first book has officially been published and I’m a giddy girl getting my groove on!

THE PURSUAL is now live on Amazon! It’s also available for sale at Barnes & Noble, Kobo and Scribd.3d render book transparent background.png

Because the Apple iBooks store and Google Books won’t let me be great, my books haven’t gone live there. Yet. Never fear, though, they’ll get there sooner than later.

I’m off to have a Mimosa … because I deserve one and this is the only break I’m going to get for a while – I’m completing the sequel, titled THE PALADIN, and I’ve got to stay focused.

Okay off to have that Mimosa and get my celebratory, struggle-twerk on!

Don’t laugh. We all have to start somewhere =) Fine, is this better?

Uh, I guess not, haha.

#Booklove: Illuminae

This one kept me gripped! I loved the format in which the story was presented. I thoroughly enjoyed the quick pace with which it moved. I also liked every single character in Illuminae.

I’ve got to stop fangirling so I can get to marketing for my own upcoming novel, THE PURSUAL, but, if you enjoy scifi, like a good space opera (a la Leviathan Wakes, which I mentioned here) and don’t mind scary zombies on a space ship – READ THIS BOOK.

That is all.

I managed to squeeze this book into the list of books finished in 2016. Yippee!! Check out my 2016 book reviews – Part 1 and Part 2. Oh, and see what’s on my list for 2017.
