#writinglessons What To Do When You Don’t Know How Your Story Ends

I’m working on two books at the moment but one of them has been giving me a hard time. ISSUE: I have no clue how the book will end!

This is the first time EVER that I’ve been stumped by a book’s ending and it’s pissing me off!

But, I’ve come up with a handy plan to solve my little problem.

I’m going to start writing what I’ve plotted for the rest of the story.

I’m going to allow my inner muse to take over and tell me where the story needs to go.

Sometimes, I focus so much on my writing process that I don’t allow enough wiggle room for the story and the characters to tell me where they’re going.

For this book, I’ve got to be flexible. I’ve got to let my ‘process’ change because it’s what this book requires. I’ve got to surrender to the story.

So, yeah, that’s what’s about to go down with LegionFated, the fourth book in the LegionBorn urban fantasy series. Sure, I’ve written several other books but, clearly, I’m still learning what works for me.

And on that note, let me go get work done.

Let me know what you do when you’re in this situation. Good luck to you!
