When’s the best time of year to publish my book? Pt 3

Yup, I’m still on a hunt to determine the best date to publish a book.

In Part 1, I researched when the top 100 books on Amazon’s Teen & Young Adult, Science Fiction and Romance book lists were released. In Part 2, I looked at calendars to discover what major events were upcoming and whether those would impede my launch for THE PURSUAL.

And now, it’s almost time to launch book 2 in The Nome Chronicles Series and I need to find a date. I’d originally wanted to publish in June but April and May were super busy with me marketing THE PURSUAL and THE PROEM, which came out in May. Plus, my research in Part 1 showed that July might not be a great time of year to publish boks like mine.

So, what have I done to find a date for THE PALADIN?

I’ve pulled out my hair!

Not the best gif but it makes me laugh everytime! I wonder why the doggy did that though, hehe.

Not quite.

Anyway, I took some time to hunt down what movies and tv shows would premiere in the months of July and August. To do that, I visited the following websites

Image result for collider

Image result for metacritic

These websites had detailed lists on what was coming to big and small screens for the rest of the year. I’m psyched to watch Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, which features Idris Elba and is based on a classic scifi book series. I can’t wait for the new seasons of Power, Killjoys, Game of Thrones, The Strain, Dark Matter and much more. (Yes, I watch way more tv than I should. Check out my fave shows from 2016.)

Sadly, I didn’t find anything along the lines of my book’s genre as that would have proven a great cross-marketing opportunity. (Anyone know of a Hunger Games-esque dystopian show/movie coming out soon?).

Oh well!

I did some other research in my quest to choose a date for THE PALADIN but this post has proven long so please join me next week for a follow up. And if you have any tips of your own to share, please do so in the comments.
