Yayyyyy!!!
I finally finished reading An Ember in the Ashes and I’m having a happy Britney moment.
I will confess, I struggled with the book in the beginning.
Why?
For some reason, I didn’t connect with the main, Laia, even though the story started off with a good amount of drama and conflict. Maybe it’s because she seemed so … weak?
No, spoilers here, but I can say, author, Sabaa Tahir, did a good job showing the readers Laia’s transformation. That made the book well worth it.
Sadly, it falls into my #Forever&aDay category because I struggled to get through the beginning. However, my daughter an I think that had to do with the fact that I would try reading at night, when I was woefully tired.
Still, my congratulations to Sabaa Tahir for creating a world I could escape to. Thank you!
